Danish Trade Surplus Smallest in 12 Months

In May 2025, Denmark experienced a reduction in its seasonally adjusted trade surplus, bringing it down to DKK 23.4 billion from an adjusted DKK 27.2 billion recorded in April. This represented the smallest surplus since May 2024. The decrease was influenced by a 0.8% month-on-month drop in exports, which totaled DKK 172.9 billion. This decline was driven by a 1.2% fall in goods exports and a marginal 0.1% decrease in services exports. Conversely, imports saw a 1.7% rise to DKK 149.6 billion, with goods imports increasing by 2.7% and services imports edging up by 0.6%. Over the first five months of 2025, Denmark's surplus expanded to DKK 121.5 billion, up from DKK 103.1 billion during the corresponding period in 2024.
