In May 2025, Austria's industrial production saw a 0.1% decline compared to the same period last year, maintaining the rate observed in April. Notably, there were declines in the output of consumer durables, which fell by 11% compared to a 10.8% decrease in the previous month. Energy production also dropped but at a slightly moderated rate of 4.7% against April's 5.2% decrease. Capital goods production contracted by 0.7%, showing improvement from the 3.3% decline witnessed in April. Meanwhile, the growth in production of intermediate goods slowed to 2.2% from 3.8%, and consumer non-durables saw a reduced growth rate of 3.1% compared to 3.5% in the preceding month. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production fell by 0.8% in May, following a 0.5% decline in April.
