In May 2025, Slovenia's industrial output experienced a modest decline of 0.2% compared to the previous year. This contraction, the third in a row, shows an improvement from the revised 4.8% decrease recorded in April. The softened decline is attributed to a slight recovery in the manufacturing sector, which rose by 0.1% compared to the previous month's 4.0% drop, and a significant upturn in mining production, which surged by 46.2% following a 2.4% increase. Conversely, the sector encompassing electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning saw a decrease of 3.7%, following an 11.3% increase in the prior month. On a month-to-month basis, industrial production contracted by 0.9%. From January to May, the overall output was down by 1.6% compared to the same timeframe in the preceding year.
