Finland's annual inflation rate slowed to 0.2% in June 2025, down from the consistent 0.5% observed over the past four months. This figure represents the lowest level since December 2020, primarily due to reduced price increases in categories such as food and non-alcoholic beverages, which slowed to 2.2% from 2.7% in May, health services, which decreased to 7.3% from 8.9%, and the hospitality sector encompassing restaurants and hotels, which eased to 1.7% from 1.9%. Additionally, costs for clothing and footwear experienced a decline, registering at -0.8%, compared to the previous 0.2% increase. Housing and utilities saw a continued downward trend, expanding to -3.5% from -2.7%, alongside miscellaneous goods and services, which dropped to -1.1% from -0.9%, and transport, which also fell further to -0.5% from -0.7%. On the flip side, there was an uptick in price growth for furnishings and household maintenance, which rose to 2.2% from 1.0%, communication, which surged to 5.8% from 3.1%, and recreation and culture, which increased to 3.1% from 2.3%. On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices experienced a decline of 0.2%, following a 0.1% decrease recorded in the prior month.
