In June 2025, Finland experienced an increase in its unemployment rate, reaching 9.9%, up from 8.3% recorded in the same month the year before. The number of unemployed individuals rose by 52,000 compared to the previous year, totaling 294,000, while the employed population decreased by 23,000 to 2.673 million. Furthermore, the unemployment rate among individuals aged 15 to 24 surged to 22.2%, marking an increase of 6.8 percentage points from the prior year. On a broader scale, the participation rate for those aged 15 to 74 increased to 71.2%, compared to 70.8% the previous year. In contrast, the employment rate for individuals aged 20 to 64 fell to 77.2% from 78.2%.
