In June 2025, Taiwanese export orders experienced a notable increase, soaring by 24.6% compared to the same month the previous year, reaching USD 56.8 billion. This represents an acceleration from the 18.5% rise observed in May, fueled primarily by robust global demand for technology-related goods. Notably, orders in the information and communication category surged by 37.4%, up from the previous month's 29.5% growth, while electronic products saw a significant jump of 35.0%, compared to a 27.7% increase in May. Additionally, there were notable gains in optical and photographic instruments, which rose by 6.7% compared to 2.8% previously, machinery, which grew by 10.6% from 6.8%, and mineral products, which increased by 3.0%, contrasting with a previous decline of 30.4%. Although some sectors saw reduced contraction, such as chemicals at -8.7% compared to -17.4%, textiles at -2.6% versus -8.8%, and plastics at -11.4% over -14.3%, orders for transport equipment further declined by 9.4%, worsening from a 6.5% decrease. Growth in other goods slowed to 30.8% from 32.7%. Regionally, the most substantial increases were observed in orders from ASEAN markets (+41.7%), followed by Japan (+38.5%) and the United States (+34.8%).
