Thailand Car Sales Rise for 3rd Month

In June 2025, domestic car sales in Thailand experienced a 5.08% year-on-year increase, reaching 50,079 units, as reported by the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI). This growth represents an acceleration from the 4.73% rise observed in the previous month. It marks the third consecutive month of sales growth, largely attributed to the increased sale of passenger cars and one-ton pickup trucks. Concurrently, car production saw a notable rise of 11.98% compared to the same month last year, with 130,223 units produced in June. Despite this increase in monthly production figures, overall vehicle production for the first half of 2025 stood at 724,715 units, reflecting a 4.80% decrease from the same period the previous year. As Southeast Asia's largest automotive manufacturing hub and a significant export base for global automakers like Toyota and Honda, Thailand also noted a 3.85% annual increase in vehicle exports. This performance marks a recovery from the 1.7% drop recorded in May.
