In the April–June 2025 quarter, Hungary's unemployment rate increased to 4.5%, up from 4.3% in the same interval the previous year. This rise denotes the highest unemployment rate since the September–November window, with the jobless population climbing by 2,100 from the previous year to 211,800. Among these, 120,000 were men and 99,000 were women, resulting in an unemployment rate of 4.6% for men and 4.3% for women. The average job search duration stood at 12.2 months. Of the unemployed, 41.3% were looking for work for less than three months, while 31.8% had been jobless for a year or longer. Concurrently, the employed workforce contracted by 45,000 to reach 4.679 million. Employment figures for men fell by 26,000 to 2.479 million, whereas the number of employed women decreased by 19,000 to 2.200 million.
