In June 2025, the number of job resignations in the United States decreased by 128,000, reaching 3.142 million, compared to a downwardly revised 3.270 million in May. This figure also fell below the 3.284 million recorded in June of the previous year and marked the lowest level since December 2024. The quits rate, which indicates the percentage of voluntary job departures in relation to overall employment, remained constant at 2.0%. Significant declines in resignations were seen in the professional and business services sector (-114,000), state and local government education (-20,000), and the federal government (-5,000). Regionally, notable decreases in job quits occurred in the South (-136,000) and the Midwest (-39,000), while increases were observed in the West (+42,000) and Northeast (+6,000).
