In June 2025, household consumption in France experienced a 0.6% increase compared to the previous month, building on a downwardly revised 0.1% rise in May. This growth surpassed market forecasts, which anticipated a 0.1% decrease. This month's data marks the third continuous month of rising household expenditures. A notable rebound occurred in spending on manufactured goods, which increased by 0.5% after a 0.4% decline in May, with durable goods being a significant driving factor. Additionally, energy consumption saw a substantial rise of 3.5%, up from 2.1%, largely due to increased electricity spending. Conversely, food consumption fell further, declining by 0.9% compared to a 0.3% decrease in May, driven by a persistent downturn in agri-food product spending. On a yearly scale, household spending grew by 0.9% in June 2025.
