In June 2025, Slovenia experienced an increase in its trade deficit, reaching EUR 1,601.2 million, compared to EUR 684.4 million in the corresponding month of the previous year. This shift occurred as both exports and imports saw an upward trend. Exports rose by 10.4% year-on-year, totaling EUR 5,351.3 million. This growth was largely propelled by a significant 22% rise in shipments to non-EU nations, while exports to EU countries saw a modest increase of 0.3%. On the other hand, imports surged by 25.7%, amounting to EUR 6,952.6 million. This escalation was driven by a remarkable 44.3% rise in imports from non-EU regions and a 6% increase in purchases from EU partners. Notwithstanding the trade deficit recorded in June, Slovenia managed to achieve a trade surplus of EUR 782.8 million during the first six months of 2025.
