In July 2025, employment figures in Australia rose by 24,500, reaching a historic high of 14.64 million. This was a significant bounce back from the previous month's downwardly adjusted increase of 1,000, although it fell just short of the market expectations of a 25,000 rise. Full-time employment experienced a notable upswing, climbing by 60,500 to a new peak of 10.13 million, a stark contrast to the adjusted 36,700 increase witnessed in June. Conversely, part-time employment saw a decrease of 35,900, bringing the total to 4.52 million and thereby offsetting the previous month's revised rise of 37,600. The employment-to-population ratio experienced a slight uptick to 64.2%, while the participation rate remained stable at 67.0%. Over the year, total employment expanded by 263,700, marking a 1.8% growth year-on-year.
