Visitor numbers to New Zealand witnessed a 0.8% increase year-on-year, reaching 186,753 in June 2025. Significant increases were observed from Australia, with 755 more visitors, Singapore with an additional 1,037, and the United Kingdom with 437 more arrivals. Overall arrivals have recovered to 87% of the pre-pandemic figures observed in May 2019, which saw 219,300 visitors. Australians constituted 45% of the total visitors, up from 42% in 2019. This was followed by visitors from the United States and China, each comprising 9% of arrivals, though China’s share remains below the 13% it held in 2019. Visitors from India now represent 5% of the total, a rise from 3% in 2019, while the United Kingdom and Singapore each account for 3%, with Singapore increasing from a 2% share. This consistent rebound in tourism showcases the continued recovery of New Zealand's international travel sector.
