In July 2025, new home prices across 70 cities in China experienced a decrease of 2.8% compared to the previous year. This was an improvement from the 3.2% decline observed in June. Marking the 25th month of consecutive decline, this decrease represented the gentlest reduction since March 2024. The slight recovery is attributed to Beijing's intensified efforts to alleviate the ongoing property downturn. Notable improvements in price declines were observed in major cities: Beijing saw a reduction to -3.6% from -4.1%, Guangzhou decreased to -4.6% from -5.1%, Shenzhen dropped to -2.2% from -2.5%, and Chongqing improved to -2.1% from -2.9%. Meanwhile, Tianjin's decrease slightly accelerated to -1.9% compared to -1.8% previously. In contrast, Shanghai reported a modest increase in home prices, with a rise of 6.1% compared to 6.0% earlier. On a monthly scale, prices decreased by 0.3% for the second consecutive month, indicating a continued lack of demand.
