DAX Extends Losses

The DAX index in Frankfurt concluded Monday's session with a slight decline of 0.2%, settling at 24,302. This follows a downward trend from Friday, as investors remain cautious ahead of forthcoming peace negotiations involving U.S. President Donald Trump, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky, and other European leaders. There are expectations that discussions will center on Russia's territorial claims, with Kyiv anticipating a clearer outline concerning possible security assurances. Meanwhile, attention is also focused on an upcoming speech by the U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, scheduled for the annual symposium of global central bankers in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. His remarks are expected to offer insights into the Fed's future policy direction.

In market movements, Commerzbank experienced a decline of over 3%, following Deutsche Bank's revision of its stock rating from "Buy" to "Hold". Other notable declines were observed in Deutsche Post (-2.1%), Daimler Truck Holding (-1.8%), Hannover Re (-1.7%), Sartorius (-1.7%), Brenntag (-1.6%), and Airbus (-1.5%). In contrast, Bayer, Siemens Energy, and Rheinmetall registered significant gains, ranging between 1.7% and 2.3%.
