U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick announced on Tuesday that a formal document detailing the latest agreement regarding U.S. tariffs on Japanese imports is anticipated to be released in the coming weeks. He noted that the Trump administration intends to update the implementation of the 15% reciprocal tariffs on Japanese goods to reflect the accord established with Tokyo this past July. This will necessitate amendments to an existing executive order. Concurrently, a new executive order is set to be introduced, aimed at reducing U.S. tariffs on Japanese automobiles from the current 27.5% down to 15%.
