Taiwan Industrial Output Growth Eases

In July, Taiwan's industrial production experienced an 18.11% year-over-year increase, marking a slight deceleration from the previously adjusted 18.32% rise in June. The growth in manufacturing output eased marginally, registering 19.55% compared to 19.87% in the prior month. Conversely, the production in the mining and quarrying sector saw a further decline, dropping by 15.66%, a deeper fall from June's 8.56% decrease. The electricity and gas supply sector also reported a reduced contraction rate, with a decrease of 7.70% following a 9.81% slump in the previous month. In contrast, the water supply sector saw a recovery, with a 0.91% increase reversing the 0.73% decline observed in June. On a monthly seasonally adjusted basis, industrial activity contracted by 1.40% in July, showing an improvement from the upwardly revised 4.19% decline recorded in June.
