Brazil Loan Growth Higher in July

In July 2025, the total value of outstanding loans in Brazil increased by 0.4%, reaching R$6.7 trillion. This growth was primarily fueled by a 0.6% increase in household credit, which amounted to R$4.2 trillion. However, this was somewhat offset by a 0.1% decrease in corporate credit, which stood at R$2.5 trillion. Over the past year, the overall credit growth slightly slowed to 10.7% from the 10.8% observed in June. Analyzing the segments, corporate lending saw an uptick, rising from 8.9% to 9.5%, while the expansion in household lending eased to 11.5% from 11.9%.
