In July 2025, retail sales in Sweden experienced a notable year-on-year increase of 2.9%, surpassing the upwardly revised 2.6% growth seen in June. This represents the most substantial annual growth since April, largely attributed to a recovery in consumable sales, which rose by 0.4% following a revised 1.3% drop in the prior month. Conversely, the growth in sales of durable goods decelerated, recording an increase of 4.7%, down from 6.4% in June. On a monthly comparison, retail sales expanded by 0.3%, following a marked upwardly revised gain of 2.6% in the previous month. Over the three-month period from May to July, sales saw a decrease of 1.4% compared to the preceding quarter (February to April).
