In July 2025, Spain experienced a 4.7% year-over-year increase in retail sales, marking a slowdown from the significant 6.2% rise recorded the previous month, a three-year peak. The growth in sales turnover decelerated among service-focused retailers, with figures at 3.2% compared to June's 4.6%. This deceleration was countered by a slight uptick in sectors such as automobiles and parts, which saw an increase from 7.1% to 7.3%, and the food, beverages, and tobacco industries, which rose from 3.8% to 5.1%. Month-over-month, retail turnover decreased by 0.4% on a seasonally adjusted basis, counteracting the previous month's 1.1% growth. This represents the first monthly decline since January.
