FX.co ★ Bulgaria Business Confidence Strengthens in August

Bulgaria's business confidence index increased to 18.3 in August 2025, up from 17.4 in July. There was a notable improvement in industrial entrepreneurs' expectations regarding the business climate for the next six months, rising to 16.4 from 13.3 in the previous month. The outlook for production activity over the forthcoming three months improved to 9.3 from 8.9, and the employment forecast rose to 6.1 from 2.3. Nevertheless, there was increased pessimism concerning new orders, with the index slipping to -15.8 from -14.9, and the perception of the current business situation became slightly less optimistic, decreasing to 20.2 from 21.6. Despite the positive shift in overall sentiment, the uncertain economic landscape at 44.5, slightly better than last month's 44.7, along with persistent labor shortages dropping to 34.7 from 36.3, continue to pose significant challenges to business growth.
