Sweden Inflation Rises to 1.1% in August

In August 2025, Sweden's annual inflation rate increased to 1.1%, up from 0.8% in July, aligning with market projections, according to preliminary estimates. This represented the highest inflation rate since February, yet it remained significantly below the Riksbank's target of 2%. On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices fell by 0.4%, reversing a 0.2% increase observed in July. The Consumer Price Index with a fixed interest rate (CPIF), which the Riksbank uses as its target measure, rose by 3.3% year-on-year in August. This was the most rapid growth since January 2024, following a 3.0% increase in the previous month, and slightly surpassed the market's prediction of a 3.2% rise.
