Japan's foreign reserves increased by $19.8 billion, reaching $1.32 trillion in August 2025, marking the highest level since July 2022. The reserves included $1.14 trillion in foreign currency assets, $11,259 million in the IMF reserve position, $60,916 million in Special Drawing Rights (SDRs), $93,270 million in gold, and $16,297 million in other reserve assets. The finance ministry had previously reported that no foreign exchange intervention operations occurred from April to June 2025.
