In July 2025, France's current account deficit expanded to EUR 2.5 billion, up from a downwardly revised EUR 2.3 billion in June. This represented the largest shortfall since April. The decline was driven by a reduction in the services account surplus, which fell to EUR 3.9 billion from EUR 5.5 billion. Furthermore, the primary income surplus shrank significantly to EUR 1.4 billion from EUR 3.2 billion in June, while the secondary income deficit grew to EUR 4.6 billion from EUR 3.9 billion. On a positive note, the goods account deficit decreased to EUR 5.5 billion in July, down from EUR 7 billion in the preceding month.
