In July 2025, Italy's retail sales turnover remained steady, showing no change from the previous month. This follows an upward revision of a 0.7% increase in June, but it fell short of the anticipated 0.4% rise. The stability in retail turnover was bolstered by a 0.3% growth in non-food goods, which continued the growth trend, marking the fourth consecutive period of increase. However, this was counterbalanced by a 0.4% decline in food goods turnover, which pared back the significant 1.5% surge seen the month prior. In seasonally adjusted volume terms, Italian retail sales saw a slight decrease of 0.2%, solely attributed to a downturn in food sales. Compared to the same month in the previous year, retail sales rose by 1.8%.
