In August 2025, Seychelles experienced a reduction in its annual inflation rate, recording a slight decrease to 0.55% from 0.64% in July, which marked a seven-month high. This decline can be attributed to a deceleration in the price rises of various food items, which eased to 2.08% from 2.21% the month before. Additionally, non-food products saw a marginal price increase of 0.41%, down from 0.44%, and there was a more pronounced drop in the prices of fresh fish, which decreased by 4.74% compared to a 1.33% decline in July. On a month-to-month comparison, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) showed negligible change in August, following a 0.17% increase observed in the previous month.
