Colombia’s Consumer Confidence Falls in August

In August 2025, Colombia's Consumer Confidence Index dropped to -2.4%, reflecting a significant decrease of 7.7 percentage points from the 5.3% recorded in July. This decline was influenced by a notable 12.2-point fall in the Economic Conditions Index, bringing it to -6.8%, and a 4.7-point decrease in the Consumer Expectations Index, which now stands at 0.5%. The decline in consumer confidence was observed in four out of the five cities analyzed, as well as across two socioeconomic groups, compared to the previous month. Additionally, the willingness to purchase durable goods and vehicles fell sharply, reaching -11.3% and -44.1%, respectively. On the other hand, the willingness to buy housing saw an increase compared to July 2025. The index showed a positive change from August 2024’s figure of -15.3%, marking an improvement of 12.9 percentage points.
