In August 2025, Finland experienced a slight increase in its annual inflation rate, which climbed to 0.5% from July's 0.2%. The price uptick was largely driven by categories such as alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and narcotics, which saw an increase to 4.93%, compared to 3.99% in July. Additionally, communication expenses rose to 6.27% from 5.81%, while restaurant and hotel prices went up to 2.27% from 1.26%. Notably, clothing and footwear prices rebounded to 0.38% after a 0.60% decline previously. Conversely, the price growth for food and non-alcoholic beverages decelerated to 2.58% from 3.07%, and transport costs eased slightly to 6.69% from 6.85%. On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices dipped by 0.2% in August, reversing the 0.2% increase seen in the prior month.
