In the second quarter of 2025, Greece experienced a 7.2% year-on-year increase in construction output, marking a significant recovery from the revised 3.8% decline observed in the first quarter. The growth in construction activity was driven by a 9.3% rise in building construction, compared to a 4.6% increase in the previous quarter. Civil engineering also saw a notable rebound, with output growth surging to 17.6% from a negative 10.4% earlier. Meanwhile, the contraction in specialized construction sectors slowed to 3.5% from 4%. On a quarterly basis, there was a remarkable 44% increase in construction output in the June quarter, following a sharp 51% decline in the prior period.
