In July 2025, Serbia experienced a 4.6% decrease in building permit issuances compared to the previous year, totaling 2,532 permits. This decline follows a 2% rise noted in June. Of the permits issued, 86.0% pertained to buildings and the remaining 14.0% were allocated for civil engineering endeavors. Specifically, within the building category, residential structures dominated with 81.8% of the permits, while non-residential buildings accounted for 18.2%. In the civil engineering sector, the majority, 76.1%, of the permits were for pipelines, communication infrastructure, and electric power lines. New construction projects represented 79.5% of the forecasted value. The most significant construction activities are projected in the Beogradska region, constituting 27.2% of the total, with Borska at 19.2%, Šumadijska at 10.5%, and Južnobacka at 8.1% following closely behind.
