U.S. stock futures remained largely unchanged on Wednesday as investors anticipated the Federal Reserve's highly-anticipated policy announcement. The central bank is expected to implement a 25 basis point reduction in interest rates, prompted by indications of a softening labor market and tepid inflation. However, the main focus remains on the Fed's guidance regarding future policy direction. In trading on Tuesday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined by 0.27%, the S&P 500 dropped by 0.13%, and the Nasdaq Composite decreased by 0.07%. Out of the 11 S&P sectors, six closed lower, with utilities, real estate, and technology sectors experiencing the most significant declines. Major technology companies like Nvidia (-1.6%), Broadcom (-1.1%), and Microsoft (-1.2%) saw notable losses. On another front, investors paid close attention to U.S.-China relations, as advancements in trade discussions and a new framework for TikTok improved market sentiment and bolstered Oracle's stock.
