Similarly, their expectations regarding the general economic situation for the coming year dipped slightly to 78.0 from 78.4. On a more positive note, there was a modest improvement in consumers' expectations concerning their personal financial situation for the year ahead, rising to 84.0 from 83.8. Additionally, optimism regarding spending on durable goods over the next 12 months increased to 105.7 from 104.8.
