Lithuania Industrial Output Tumbles in August

In August 2025, Lithuania experienced a 2.4% decline in industrial production compared to the same month a year prior, a contrast to the 1.8% increase observed in July. This marked the first reduction in industrial activity since June 2024. A notable decrease was seen in the manufacturing sector, which fell by 2.7% compared to a 1.7% rise in the previous month. The sectors of mining and quarrying experienced a sharper decline of 14.1%, following a 1.5% drop in July. The growth in output for electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply slowed to 6% from 6.8%. Conversely, the rate of decline in production for water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services improved slightly, moving to a 3.5% decrease from a more significant 6% fall previously. On a month-to-month, seasonally adjusted basis, industrial output in August increased by 2.1%, rebounding from a 1.6% decrease in the prior month.
