In July 2025, Luxembourg experienced an increase in its trade deficit, which reached €0.94 billion, up from €0.86 billion in the same period the previous year. This change was primarily due to an 8.7% rise in imports, totaling €2.29 billion. The most significant increase was observed in machinery and equipment, which surged by 83.6%. Other contributing factors included rises in non-edible raw materials, oils and fats (up by 15.6%), and food and live animals (up by 13.0%). On the export side, there was an 8.3% growth, reaching €1.35 billion. Key contributors to this increase were transport equipment, which soared by 43.3%, followed by enhancements in manufactured articles (17.1%), beverages and tobacco (14.6%), food and live animals (13.9%), and mineral fuels and lubricants (13.1%).
