US 1-Year Inflation Expectations Revised Marginally Down

In September 2025, the University of Michigan's survey indicated that inflation expectations in the United States for the coming year were 4.7%. This figure was marginally lower than both the preliminary estimate and August's reading, each at 4.8%. Concurrently, the five-year inflation forecast underwent a revision downwards to 3.7% from an earlier estimate of 3.9%, although it remained higher than August’s 3.5%.
