Business investment in the United Kingdom experienced a 1.1% decline quarter-on-quarter for the April to June 2025 period. This follows a previously adjusted 4.1% increase in the prior quarter, which had been the most robust growth since the first quarter of 2023. The current figure represents an upward revision from the initial forecast, which had anticipated a 4.0% decrease. Year-on-year, business investment rose by 3.0%, a decline from the previously revised 5.8% increase reported in the previous quarter, which was the highest annual growth observed in close to three years. These figures suggest a decrease in investment activity, highlighting a more cautious approach from businesses amid ongoing economic uncertainties.
