Retail sales in Sweden experienced a 4.4% increase year-on-year in August 2025, building on a downwardly adjusted 2.8% increase in the preceding month. This marks the third consecutive month of growth and the most robust expansion rate since April, largely fueled by heightened demand for durable goods, which surged 7.9% compared to 4.4% in July. Meanwhile, sales of consumables grew by 0.6%, slightly down from a 0.7% increase in July. On a month-to-month basis, retail sales rose by 0.9% in August, following an upward adjustment to a 0.4% rise in July. Analyzing the June-August timeframe, sales advanced by 0.8% when compared to the previous three months (March-May).
