In August 2025, Hungary achieved a trade surplus of EUR 557 million, an increase from EUR 294 million recorded in the same month of the previous year. This improvement was due to exports decreasing at a slower rate than imports. Exports experienced a 5.3% decline to EUR 10,193 million, while imports decreased by 8% to EUR 9,636 million. Over the first eight months of 2025, Hungary’s trade surplus expanded to EUR 7,112 million from EUR 6,192 million for the same period in the preceding year.
