Slovenia Inflation Rate Slows to 3-Month Low

In September 2025, Slovenia experienced a reduction in its annual inflation rate to 2.7%, down from a peak of 3% recorded the previous month, a sixteen-month high. This figure marked the lowest inflation rate since June, primarily due to a deceleration in price increases for food and non-alcoholic beverages, which slowed to 7% from 7.6% in August. Clothing and footwear witnessed a significant reduction in price growth, dropping to 3% from 6.9%, while recreation and culture saw a decrease to 2.4% from 3.1%. Furthermore, there was a continued decline in costs within the transport sector, dropping by 0.7% compared to the previous -1.1%, and communications saw a marginal dip, down 0.3% following a 0.1% decrease. Conversely, inflation saw a moderate rise in the health sector, climbing to 4.8% from 4.5%, and in education, increasing to 4.5% from 4%. On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices fell by 0.4% in September, following a period of stagnation.
