FX.co ★ Luxembourg Producer Prices Fall in August

Producer prices in Luxembourg experienced a year-on-year decline of 0.8% in August 2025, following a 1.3% rise in the previous month. This period marked the first instance of deflation since last December. The decrease was primarily driven by reduced costs for energy, which fell by 9%, and intermediate goods, which decreased by 0.3% compared to a 1.4% increase earlier. Conversely, there was a rise in prices for consumer goods, which increased by 6.9%, albeit lower than the 14.9% increase observed previously, as well as for capital goods, which saw a slight uptick of 0.1% compared to the unchanged figures in July. On a month-to-month basis, the Producer Price Index (PPI) dropped by 0.9% in August, following a 0.1% decrease in the prior month.
