In the second quarter of 2025, Moldova's unemployment rate decreased to 4.0%, down from a revised 4.8% in the previous quarter. Unemployment among men fell to 4.4% from 6.0%, and the rate for women slightly decreased to 3.6% from 3.7%. Urban areas experienced a jobless rate of 4.1%, while rural regions saw a rate of 3.9%. Notably, youth unemployment, for individuals aged 15 to 24, declined to 8.3% from 10.7%. Overall, the total number of unemployed individuals decreased by 13.5% to 32,800. At the same time, the labor force expanded by 40,900, reaching a total of 824,700. This growth increased the participation rate for those aged 15 and older to 41.8%, compared to 39.7% in the first quarter of 2025.
