In August 2025, Indonesia's exports experienced a 5.78% increase compared to the same month the previous year. This growth decelerated from the 9.86% rise observed in July but surpassed market expectations, which predicted a 5% increase. This slowdown represents the most moderate export growth since April, influenced partially by the introduction of new US tariffs. As part of an agreement concluded in July, Indonesia consented to a reciprocal tariff rate of 19%.
