Paraguay experienced a rise in annual inflation to 4.3% in September 2025, compared to 4.1% in August. The transport sector saw an increase in deflation, moving to -3.1% from -1.1%. Conversely, inflation rates decreased in sectors such as recreation and culture, which fell to 3.4% from 5.8%, services, down to 3.8% from 4.4%, and utilities, slipping slightly to 2.7% from 2.8%. Meanwhile, most other categories displayed more moderate price increases. Notably, the costs of food and non-alcoholic beverages climbed to 9.8% from 8.8%, largely due to rising prices for meat and horticultural products. Likewise, the categories of restaurants and hotels edged slightly higher to 7.1% from 7.0%. On a month-to-month basis, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) decreased by 0.1%, reversing the 0.1% growth recorded in August.
