Tunisia witnessed a reduction in its annual inflation rate, which decreased to 5.0% in September 2025 — the lowest observed since May 2021 — from 5.2% in the previous month of August. This deceleration was largely influenced by more moderate price increases in food and non-alcoholic beverages, now at 5.7% compared to 5.9% in August, representing the slowest growth rate since April 2021. Additionally, price increases slowed in sectors such as recreation and culture, which saw a drop to 4.6% from 5.4%; restaurant, café, and hotel services, which decreased to 10.1% from 10.6%; transport services, which fell to 3.1% from 3.6%; and furnishings and household equipment, which eased to 4.9% from 5.0%. Conversely, price inflation remained unchanged for housing, maintaining a rate of 3.4%, and for clothing and footwear, steady at 8.9%. On a monthly scale, consumer prices rose by 0.6% in September, up from a 0.3% increase in August, marking the fastest rate of increase over a five-month period.
