Czech Republic Inflation Slows in September

In September 2025, the Czech Republic's annual inflation rate decreased to 2.3%, down from 2.5% in August and slightly below the anticipated 2.6%, according to preliminary data. This deceleration primarily stemmed from reduced price hikes in categories such as food, alcohol, and tobacco, which recorded a 2.9% increase compared to August's 4.0%, as well as in goods, which saw a rise of 0.8% versus the previous 1.1%. Conversely, while energy costs continued to fall, they did so at a reduced rate, moving from a -4.4% decline in August to -3.3% in September. Meanwhile, service-related inflation remained unchanged at 4.7%. On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices experienced a drop of 0.6% in September, contrasting with the 0.1% growth observed in August, and marking the first decline since April.
