Industrial production in Hungary decreased by 7.3% in August 2025, following a 1% decline in July, according to preliminary estimates. This represents the fifth consecutive month of decreasing industrial activity and marks the most significant contraction since February 2025. The decline was predominantly driven by a significant reduction in vehicle manufacturing, while there was an increase in the output of computer, electronic, and optical products. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production fell by 2.3% in August, negating the 2% rise recorded in the previous month.
