Slovakia's construction sector experienced a significant uptick in August 2025, with output increasing by 12.1% compared to the same period last year. This is the most substantial growth since February 2022, following a 10.3% rise in July. The surge was primarily fueled by a boost in domestic construction activities, which grew by 7.9% compared to 7.8% in July. There was also notable progress in new construction activities, rising to 7.8% from 6.6%, along with significant improvements in repairs and maintenance, which jumped to 11.4% from 1.8%. Additionally, construction operations overseas surged by 49.4%, up from 29.6%. Engineering works saw a 4.8% rise after a previous stable reading, whereas building construction growth eased to 9.4%, down from 12.3%. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, construction output inched up by 0.4% in August.
