Czech Republic Current Account Shifts to Deficit

In August 2025, the Czech Republic's current account reported a deficit of CZK 0.67 billion, contrasting with a surplus of CZK 13.81 billion recorded during the same period the previous year. The surplus in the goods account experienced a notable reduction, decreasing to CZK 11.80 billion from CZK 27.11 billion a year prior. Similarly, the surplus in services saw a slight decline, falling to CZK 8.69 billion from CZK 8.85 billion. Additionally, the deficit in secondary income expanded to CZK 6.44 billion, up from CZK 5.48 billion. Conversely, the deficit in primary income saw a reduction, dropping to CZK 14.72 billion from CZK 16.68 billion in August 2024.
