In September 2025, Argentina experienced a 2.1% month-on-month rise in consumer prices, consistent with expectations and following a 1.9% increase in August. The education sector saw prices escalate to 3.1%, up from 1.7% in August, while clothing and footwear prices climbed to 2.1% from 0.9%. Additionally, recreation and culture prices grew to 1.3% compared to 1.1% previously. Conversely, there was a deceleration in price increases across several sectors: transportation dropped to 3.0% from 4.6%, health dipped to 2.3% from 2.6%, housing and utilities eased to 3.1% from 3.7%, and restaurants and hotels fell to 1.1% from 2.0%. Communication saw a slight decrease to 2.2% from 2.3%, alcoholic beverages and tobacco decreased to 1.6% from 1.8%, and other goods and services reduced to 2.1% from 2.3%. Food and non-alcoholic beverages maintained their rate at 1.9%, as did home equipment and maintenance at 1.8%. On an annual basis, the consumer price index rose by 31.8%, marking a continuation of the disinflation trend and reflecting the smallest annual increase since July 2018, having decreased from 33.6% in August.
