In September 2025, Croatia's annual inflation rate rose slightly to 4.2%, up from 4.1% in August, as per preliminary estimates. This increase marks the highest rate since December 2023, largely driven by a rise in housing and utility costs, which climbed to 8.8% from 8.1% in the previous month. Additionally, communication prices saw a rebound, moving to a 2.4% increase from a decrease of 0.4%. Conversely, inflation showed some easing in categories such as food and non-alcoholic beverages, which decreased to 5.7% from 6.3%, miscellaneous goods and services, down to 4.5% from 5.4%, and in the restaurant and hotel sector, which fell to 7.0% from 7.5%. Although transport costs continued to decline, the rate of decrease slowed to 0.8% from 1.3%. On a monthly scale, consumer prices rose by 0.4% in September, following a 0.1% increase in August.
